Thank you to Christ’s Church Fleming Island for the recent donation! Part of the money was used to purchase a brand new freezer to replace one that died in December. (It was old when it was donated to us years ago, and it lived a good, long life.) The rest of the gift will pay to keep all of our freezers running for several months. We appreciate the vote of confidence and financial support.

The only kind of “dough” JEA accepts is cash, so financial donations are critical to our mission of rescuing food for those in need.

The students from Ridgeview High School Spanish Honor Society and National Honor Society spent the early morning picking oranges, grapefruit, and tangerines.
They brought over 2550 pounds of gorgeous fruit gleaned from homeowners in Mandarin to Waste Not Want Not much to the delight of our recipients. This is the 5th year that Spanish Honor Society students from two different high schools have donated time to glean citrus trees and fields (cabbage and broccoli). We were excited to learn that Ridgeview students will be gleaning citrus again on February 4th, helping put even more surplus food to good use.
