Waste Not Want Not creates a positive multiplier effect on donations, magnifying the value to the community of every gift to us. A dollar given to, and spent by, Waste Not Want Not saves the social service community much more than a dollar. Waste Not spent $125,000 last year to provide 1,359,361 pounds of food to those in need. The conservative cost avoidance enjoyed by local charities (the amount they saved by not having to purchase that amount of food) was more than $2,720,000.
You can feel good knowing that your gift will be put to immediate use helping to provide food for those in need. More than 96 % of Waste Not Want Not’s expenditures go directly to program services.
